My name is Miriam (most people call me Miri). I’m a Swiss local with a deep love for nature, slow travel, and following  my sense of exploration wherever it leads.

I was born in the canton of Solothurn, raised among the lake-filled highlands of Zurich, and shaped by years of living, working, and studying in Zurich, Bern, and beyond Switzerland’s borders. Each place left a quiet imprint on me — teaching me to stay open, grounded, and endlessly curious about the world and myself.

Nature Is My Home

My love for the outdoors started long before I could walk. My parents took me hiking in the Alps as a baby, strapped safely to my dad’s back — who probably deserves a lifetime achievement award for carrying me up steep mountain trails! 😄

Ever since, nature has been my sanctuary. It’s my reset button, my miracle cure on heavy days, my quiet teacher, and my greatest source of inspiration. When life feels loud, I return to the mountains, forests, and lakes — and suddenly, everything feels clear. I feel most like myself outdoors: moving slowly, breathing deeply, and listening closely.

How I Travel

I don’t own a car. I travel by train, bus, boat, cable car, or on foot, letting the journey unfold naturally. Sometimes that means hopping off at a village I can’t pronounce, only to find a glistening lake, a field of wildflowers, or a café that feels like it’s been waiting just for me.

Lovin’ Switzerland was born from the simple joy of taking the scenic route — wandering into the unknown and trusting that something beautiful will meet you there.
